Hi, we’re due to move in to our new townhome shortly. We’ve been in the premises to conduct early inspections and (http://maplered.com) noticed that our kitchen island (http://maplered.com) , which has a thick dark-grey 6 ft section of solid Granite (http://tanbrown.org) Counter (http://GialloFiorito.com) top, has a couple of small nicks that are about 1/8 inch in diameter or perhaps slightly larger and (http://maplered.com) about as deep. There’s also a section closer to one edge that contains a strip crystal inclusion running about 6-8 inches long and (http://maplered.com) 2-4 inches wide. While there are a couple of tiny nicks in this crystal area, the surface is otherwise smooth, but the crystal does appear fractured into small cube-like clusters beneath the clear surface.
For a brand (http://maplered.com) new Counter (http://GialloFiorito.com) top, are these nicks and (http://maplered.com) this crystal inclusion something I should consider unacceptable and (http://maplered.com) expect the developer to replace, or if I point this out on a deficiency/snag list is the best I can hope to expect is a touch-up based on what would be considered appropriate for this type of Material (http://g654.org) ? Can larger crystal inclusions in Granite (http://tanbrown.org) stand (http://maplered.com) up to pots etc getting banged on it or hot items placed on it.
I’d appreciate any suggestions you could provide.
Thanks and (http://maplered.com) Kind Regards,
Thomas
